A whole-house renovation and extension of a traditional rural cottage on the Isle of Wight, transforming a modest agricultural building into a comfortable, light-filled family home. The existing cottage was carefully stripped back and reconfigured, with a new single-storey wing extending to the rear to create an open kitchen and dining room that connects directly to the garden. The material language of the extension — white render, timber joinery and a sedum roof — is informed by the existing building and the wider agricultural landscape. Planning was navigated sensitively to ensure the new work sits in harmony with the cottage and its setting.
