Led by Lewis Wood.
Architect, founder, your point of contact.
Lewis founded Woods Architects in 2020 after eight years at established UK practices delivering residential, commercial and listed-building projects. Today the studio works with a trusted team of structural and services engineers, planning consultants and contractors — selected for each commission.
The practice is structured deliberately so that clients always work directly with him. No account managers, no project runners, no rotating teams. The architect who shapes the design is the same one answering questions on site at 8am.

The RIBA Plan of Work,
made plain.
We follow the RIBA Plan of Work — the industry-standard framework — adapted to each project's scale and complexity. What never varies is the quality of our involvement, and the directness of our relationship with you. Tap any stage below to see what happens, what we deliver, and what we'll need from you.
Strategic Definition
We meet, visit your site and listen. You tell us what you want to achieve; we tell you, honestly, what's possible and what the route to delivery looks like.
Three things we never compromise.
We're not a practice that applies a house style. Each project is a response to a specific client and a specific site. But three principles never change.
Designed to Last
Buildings that age well, weather well, and feel right to occupy in fifty years. Quality is the baseline — not the upgrade.
Direct Relationship
The architect who shapes your design is the one answering questions on site. No handoffs, no managers in between.
Sober Honesty
We'll tell you when an idea isn't worth pursuing. We'll tell you what your budget actually buys. We'll tell you what the planners will say.
Two studios. One practice.
"Good architecture begins with careful listening — to the place, the brief, and the people who will inhabit the work."
— Lewis Wood, Director
