We are not a specialist heritage practice. Traditional buildings are a passion: how old homes work, the hidden doors and secret rooms, and the pleasure of setting new architecture against old.
What draws us
A passion, not a specialism
Some of our favourite work sets clean, contemporary architecture against old fabric, so each makes the other look better.
Traditional buildings are a lifelong fascination: how they were made, how they breathe, how their rooms were meant to be used. Understanding that shapes what we add.
A particular obsession: jib doors, panelled walls that open, rooms you only find if you know where to look. We love designing them into new work too.
We love the idea of putting old houses back together properly. Where a building needs specialist conservation input, we will say so early and bring the right people in.
