Residential Architecture

New Build Homes

Bespoke new homes on one-off sites — from coastal cliff-top houses in the Isle of Wight's AONB to self-build projects across Hampshire and London.
01 — About This Service

A considered, personal service — end to end.

A new house is the clearest expression of what architecture can do: a building shaped entirely by its site, its brief, and the lives that will be lived inside it. We take new build commissions as a chance to design something that could only exist on this particular plot.

We handle plot feasibility, planning strategy, design development, full planning permission, technical design, tender and on-site administration. New build projects typically take 18–36 months from first conversation to moving day.

02 — What's Involved

The detail that makes the difference.

Every project is different, but the principles are the same. Here's what makes this service work.

01

AONB and National Park sites

We have specific experience designing in the Isle of Wight AONB and the New Forest National Park — understanding the specific planning policies that apply and how to design proposals that succeed.

02

Self-build projects

We work with self-build clients who want to commission their own home — advising on plot purchase, planning risk, design, procurement and warranty.

03

Contemporary design

We design modern houses that respond to their setting without mimicking it. Contemporary does not have to mean shouty.

04

Sustainability and performance

New houses should be warm, well-insulated and cheap to run. We design fabric-first, low-energy homes as standard.

03 — Typical Brief

Projects we deliver.

One-off house · Self-build · Replacement dwelling · Paragraph 80 (exceptional design) · Coastal new build · Rural new build

Every commission is shaped by its specific site, brief and client. The list above is indicative — if your project doesn't fit neatly, we'd still like to hear about it.

04 — How We Work

From first conversation to final handover.

We follow the RIBA Plan of Work, adapted to your project's scale. Three core stages, broken down further in the proposal.

Step 01

Listen & Analyse

Initial conversation, site visit, brief development and a clear written proposal. You know exactly what you're getting and what it will cost before we begin.

Step 02

Design & Plan

Concept design, planning applications, technical design and specification. We work closely with you at every stage — design is a conversation, not a delivery.

Step 03

Build & Deliver

Tender, contract administration and construction. We stay involved on site, protecting the design and solving problems as they arise until final handover.
