Residential Architecture

Renovations & Refurbishments

Whole-house renovations — taking tired, disjointed homes and transforming them into calm, connected, well-considered spaces.
01 — About This Service

A considered, personal service — end to end.

Most renovation projects are really two projects: architecture (what walls move, where light enters, how the house flows) and interiors (materials, joinery, lighting, fixed furniture). We design both together, as a single coherent exercise.

We offer full architectural and interior design services for renovations — from concept through planning (if needed), tender, construction administration and snagging. The same architect leads your project from first meeting to final handover.

02 — What's Involved

The detail that makes the difference.

Every project is different, but the principles are the same. Here's what makes this service work.

01

Structural strategy

Renovations often need structural work — steel beams, underpinning, level changes. We work with trusted structural engineers from the start.

02

Interior architecture

Fitted joinery, kitchens, bathrooms, doors, ironmongery, lighting — designed by us as part of the overall project, not specified from a catalogue afterwards.

03

Listed and historic properties

Renovating a listed building or property in a conservation area requires specific consents. We have extensive experience navigating these.

04

Whole-house performance

Renovations are an opportunity to re-insulate, upgrade services, and future-proof the building. We design for lower bills and greater comfort.

03 — Typical Brief

Projects we deliver.

Whole-house refurbishment · Kitchen and bathroom redesign · Reconfiguration · Period property restoration · Interior architecture · Basement conversion

Every commission is shaped by its specific site, brief and client. The list above is indicative — if your project doesn't fit neatly, we'd still like to hear about it.

04 — How We Work

From first conversation to final handover.

We follow the RIBA Plan of Work, adapted to your project's scale. Three core stages, broken down further in the proposal.

Step 01

Listen & Analyse

Initial conversation, site visit, brief development and a clear written proposal. You know exactly what you're getting and what it will cost before we begin.

Step 02

Design & Plan

Concept design, planning applications, technical design and specification. We work closely with you at every stage — design is a conversation, not a delivery.

Step 03

Build & Deliver

Tender, contract administration and construction. We stay involved on site, protecting the design and solving problems as they arise until final handover.
